THE COMPARISON WORKSPACE / SCREEN GEOMETRY

Put your screens side by side.

Compare up to three theoretical screen rectangles, pixel densities and pixel counts at one visual scale. Physical area, pixel density and pixel count stay separate. No score or compatibility promise is inferred.

Display Size & PPI Comparator

One scale. Separate facts.

Enter the visible diagonal in inches and the horizontal and vertical pixel counts. Choose up to three screens; the first is the reference. Swapping the pixel dimensions models an ideal rotation. Chassis, stands and bezels are excluded.

Calculation

Let d be the diagonal in inches and x, y the pixel dimensions. Pixel diagonal q = √(x² + y²). Width = d × x ÷ q and height = d × y ÷ q, in inches. Multiply by 2.54 for centimeters. PPI = q ÷ d. Pixel pitch = 25.4 ÷ PPI, in millimeters. Total pixels = x × y. Display rounding does not change the internal calculation.

What the numbers cannot tell you

This model assumes a flat rectangular visible area and square pixels. It does not include bezels, stands, mounting hardware or curved-screen geometry. PPI does not establish color quality, eye comfort, refresh support or compatibility. Use the manufacturer's chassis dimensions when checking a desk or shelf. Copy and print include the assumptions, units and reference-screen context.
